Resorts at Sanibel/Captiva--which is best?

Please tell me what resort you think is best is this area and why. I am interested in the major ones, not small properties. I have three young children and will like to have as much luxury that a family resort could accommodate, on the beach, and organized activities for children. Family oriented is a must. Thank you.

We stayed for several years at Sundial, and although there were not any children in our group, there were numerous ones throughout the resort. Especially at the main pool. As I recall, the Resort set up programs for the kids and they had a japanese restaurant that the children seemed to enjoy. And the resort is also geared towards adults with no children, so there is some more luxury there. Have a good trip.

South Seas Plantation on Captiva is a sprawling property with a vast variety of accommodation types. Many families there and seemingly lots of activities for children.

Check with Hilton Grand Vacations, They manage several timeshare resorts on San/Cap. & other areas. They all have rec programs for young & old alike & they do not try to sell you units. They are all waterfront resorts w/pools & beach. Sundial is one of their properties. I have owned 3 different weeks for over 12 yrs. & we love them.

Sanibel and "luxury" don't really go well together in my opinion. Sanibel is really a great place for nature lovers. However, I'll go along with South Seas Plantation as being the closest thing to luxury that you'll find in Sanibel/Captiva.
