Resortquest Waikiki Circle

I would like to get opinions from anybody who has stayed here in the last 6-12 months, or who knows the property well. I am familiar with the general location and really like the fact that it is essentially oceanfront (just across the street from beach park) for a reasonable price. The reviews on Tripadvisor are generally good.

I guess my main concern is that the beds be comfortable and firm, and that the lanai be big enough for 2 people to sit on. If we do stay there, we will get an oceanfront room, I think. Would also love to hear comparisons of the oceanfront and oceanview rooms. Thank you!

Hi,

I stayed there 2 years ago (almost to the day!). A little out of your timeframe but I think I have some useful info.

We had an oceanview room on the 3rd floor. This was facing the ocean, slightly at an angle. I *think* the oceanfront rooms are straight-on to the ocean, ocean-view are slightly at an angle and partial-ocean on the sides of the circle. Because of this I don't think there is much to call between oceanfront and oceanview, but I do think the higher the floor the better (I could be wrong and oceanfront are only on higher floors, so probably best to ask the hotel about this). Since we were only on the 3rd floor we had a fair amount of street noise, and could hear the a/c unit for the lobby. It didn't bother us, but it might bother others. You would also have a more expansive view higher up, although we loved people-watching and could see the Hawaiian show on the beach every night really well.

As you say the location is fantastic, and for the price I don't think you can do better.

The lanai is easily big enough for 2 people to sit on. There were 2 chairs and a table. As for the beds, I cannot remember - they were ok.

I would definitely stay there again. It is amazing value.

We stayed there 14 months ago--again a little out of your time frame, but I would not think the place has changed much. We loved it and are going back next year. It is definitely older and more outdated than other places on the beach, but it was clean and the location was fantastic! We had an oceanfront room and we loved it. Yes, the balcony is big enough for two---it is not a really large balcony but plenty big enough for two people to sit out and enjoy Waikiki. I read a lot of reviews about the rooms being small. They probably were, but we had stayed at the Circle after a cruise, and after the cruise cabins, the room at the Circle looked large enough! If you are looking for new and gorgeous--you will not be happy. If you are looking for a clean comfortable room in a great location at a good price, you will be more than satisfied.

Optimystic and BC, thank you! Your descriptions sound great. This is at the top of my list for our upcoming visit to Waikiki.

We stayed at the Resourtquest Waikiki Circle in mid February. The beds were the best we've found in all our travels. The place is not fancy but we liked it well enough that we booked a room for next February.

We first had a city view room and decided to change to an ocean view and were very glad we did.

Thank you, flifer! I am glad to hear you liked it, and especially that you liked the beds.

We stayed there 16 months ago. We had an oceanview room but it was on a lower floor so had some trees outside, no other room was available since our flight got in in the evening but I would definitely see if you can request a higher floor ahead of time. The location was great, the rooms were clean but tiny - just so you are prepared, we were a little taken aback.
It was still a good value for the money.
