ResortQuest - Maui

Hi ~

We are debating whether to book a condo in Maui directly with an owner (vrbo.com) or go through ResortQuest agency.

We have certain variables that may risk us having to cancel our trip, such as babysitters, children as well as ourselves getting sick, etc.

Has anyone booked a room/condo through ResortQuest? If any problems came up, did the agency handle it professionally? Were you happy with your room?

TIA!

Hi

I was surprised to see that you didn't get any responses to your inquiry. I am going to Maui in August and have booked thru Resortquest for similar reasons. Have you gone on your trip?
Were you happy with RQ?

Hi, Resort Quest is the company that now own Aston Hotels. They have lots of condos in Maui and Oahau and are very nice. I have stayed at the Kaanapoli Shores propety in Mauai and thought that it was very nice for the price. I was booked at the Whaler property in September but we had a change in plans and will be staying in a timeshare property in Kauai instead.

Hope you have fun in Mauai

Hi there!

Our trip is coming up on May 18th!

We decided to cancel the ResortQuest Whaler condo because I couldn't find any additional information or traveler reviews. I wasn't 100% comfortable taking the "gamble" on our vacaction.

So, instead, we'll stay at the Hyatt, which, I'm certain we can't go wrong, based on friends, family and forum reviews. To us, it hit the right price point, location, amenities, etc.

We booked a GREAT package rate through Costco Travel. It was the best I could find ~ we are pleased with the pricing.

I'll post a review once we return =)

How was it booking travel arrangements through Costco? I have been checking out their cruises and wondering on their prices and packages they offer. I still have a couple more years to check things out as I am planning this cruise in time for my husband's 50th birthday.

Hi Offlady!

The package rates through Costco were the best I had found.

Just to give a general example, our Maui trip for 2 people, 6 nights, excluding airfare, would have been in the ballpark of $3200 (without tax).

With Costco, I was able to get it at $2400 (includes Hyatt room, breakfast for 2 everyday, all taxes, and a Jeep convertible).

I'll post a review when we return towards the end of May.

HTH!

Correction to my Costco numbers ...

The pricing lands up being around $2700, not $2400.
