Resort/Hotel near Port Canaveral

We are from Scotland and will be disembarking from cruise ship at Port Canaveral after two weeks round the Caribbean in March '16
We want to stay in nice hotel and resort for 4 days before flying back to UK from Orlando. We may not have transport ?? looking for nice place with entertainment/dining etc. within easy distance.
Could anyone recommend places ?????? Perhaps Cocoa Beach/ Melbourne/Vero Beach ????
We have never been to this area before.

If it is a Disney cruise ship, I'm sure they can arrange transport from Port Canaveral to one of their resort hotels in the Orlando/Disney World area.
After getting off the ship, you may want to get away from the ocean for a while.

Sorry, I should have added that we are to 'old farts' about 70 years of age but still able to get about OK
We do not fancy Disney. we are on Norwegian
A beach type hotel/ resort sounds OK
Thanks for your interest and info.

They have a park and cruise deal so would probably pick you up when the ship came in. There are a few places to eat close by but cabs are not bad in CB. We eat at the port a lot but rarely in Cocoa beach. La Quinta by the pier is ok also. Both have shopping centers near by with a publix grocery store. Ron Jon's has four points sheraton but not the greatest reviews. There are shuttles that you can hire to take you to Orlando.

http://www.fawltytowersmotel.com/ this place is owned by a British family, not the greatest place but thought you smile at the name.

Any questions ask because I live here, just don't sleep in the hotels.

Best thing about this is it is close to the pier, shopping center with restaurants across the street, they have park and cruise deals so transportation also from the port.

Nolan's Irish pub is not far and you can go there for the 17th. He was a priest but left the church and opened this bar. Good food and drink.

Hi,
Should have added, hiring car from the cruise disembarcation port and dropping it off at Orlando Airport.
Any advice on this, places to visit, driving conditions, companies to use etc. etc. ?????????
