Resort in Oahu, not in Waikiki

Hello -

We are a family of 4 returning to Hawaii in July. We will be in Maui for a week and want to go to Oahu for 4-5 nights. We don't want to stay in Waikiki. We prefer a nice resort, like a Marriott or Sheraton elsewhere on the island.
Any recommendations?

Thanks

Aloha from Princeville...

Ko Olina Resort is nice -- condos, timeshares, homes, and the Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa:

Depending on traffic, you'll be 30-45 minutes or so from Waikiki.

Hi -
Thanks, but the hotel looks a bit too expensive for us. Anything else you can think of would be appreciated. Are there certain areas I shoud be looking at?

We are a family of four who returned on Saturday. We stayed at Turtle Bay Resort in the Ocean Villas. Snorkelling on the doorstep, turtles in the bay, 2 pools ( one with water slide). Close to Polynesian Cultural Centre, surfing beaches,10mins to supermarket. Nice restaurants on site for the nights we didn't cook. Not sure about min of nights for booking.

There are only a few resorts on Oahu that are not in Waikiki.

JW Marriott Ihilani on Leeward (west) side

Turtle Bay Resort on North Shore

Kahala Hotel & Resort - about 3 miles on the opposite side of Diamond Head from Waikiki.

You can also find condos & beach houses throughout Oahu. www.vrbo.com

Lots of info including sites with free brochures for all islands:

Turtle Bay up on the North Shore is the one I've heard most about.

As mentioned already, there simply aren't all that many to choose from on Oahu because most hotels & resorts are located in the Waikiki area.
