Residence Inn by Marriott Manhattan/NYC Ave of America

How is the Residence Inn by Marriott Manhattan on the Ave of Americas? We are visiting for 1 night and will be doing Empire State, Rockefeller, Times Square and dinner at night so we want somewhere easy to get back to at night.

I haven't stayed there so I can't coomment on the hotel itself.(I'm local) The location is very convenient for what you are planning. The block is very busy during the day with office workers, but at night it will be fairly empty as its not residential and there aren't any real restaurants or attractions in the immediate area.

We've stayed there a couple of times and it was fine.

The rooms are depressing. Good location and nice staff. Look at the Courtyard Times Square which is right near it and nicer. The Strand is another good option. Look at photos on oyster.com

We stayed there a few years ago and it was fine - although we did have a problem with shower water pressure. I didn't find the rooms depressing - they're standard-issue Residence Inn. There's a market a block away that has great croissants.

Stayed at the Residence Inn last year. The breakfast is adequate, rooms include a full kitchen (we didn't find them depressing at all)and the staff are helpful. The location is handy, close to the subway, Bryant Park and the Library. The area can be quiet at night, but restaurants are close by in the Times Square area. During the day try Culture Espresso, around the corner at 72 W 38th St have great coffee, sandwiches and cookies.
