Residence Inn Beverly Hills or Le Parc, West Hollywood
We, husband, boy 16 girl 14 are going to CA in July. We want to spend 10 days and want to be within walking distance tosome stuff the first few days and then do a beach thing. We love dining and site seeing and want a good location for the first part of our trip. Which is a better location for that. Residence Inn Beverly Hills or Le Parc West Hollywood? Any info appreciated. We are first timers to CA from PA!!

They are both good choices in terms of area (I've never been in either hotel). A few blocks north of the BH hotel are lots of little shops and casual places to eat. The fancy part of Beverly Hills is just a little bit further away on the north side of Wilshire. A close drive from your BH hotel is Century City which has a nice shopping mall that would likely appeal to your teens. The West Hollywood hotel is in a more lively location and may more fun for walking around at night. The kids are too young for the nightclubs nearby but you could go as a family to some "hip" places to eat such as The Standard where you can eat by the pool and look out over Los Angeles.

Thanks for the info. Anymore out there?

I've stayed in both. I prefer the location of Residence Inn (not far from Rodeo Drive) but I prefer the rooms at Le Parc.
The big breakfast at Residence Inn is something to consider. I don't remember a "lively location" for Le Parc, but I stayed there ten years ago. |
My husband and I and our twin boys, 17, stayed at the Residence Inn last March for spring break. The hotel seems to be in a good location, however we seemed to spend most of our outings driving, Universal Studios, Hollywood,Santa Monica beach, Malibu,Getty,Farmers market and Grove, and college visits to UCLA and USC. There are a few shops and restaurants close enough to walk. The boys liked the big breakfasts, and there is also a light meal in the evening. It was great for teenage boys to get a snack before a late dinner, and the adults are served complimentary wine or beer. It was a good central location for driving, but I'm not sure you could find that much to walk to.

Residence Inn is a short walk from Rodeo Boulevard which is lined with shops and restaurants and leads into Rodeo Drive.
