Report on Roger Williams Hotel in New York
Well, have just returned from a non-stop 3 week visit to the USA and Canada with an unexpected stopover in Nadi, Fiji on the way home when one engine had to be shut down!!! Just wanted to give a report on the Roger Williams hotel at Madison and 31st St. We had booked a superior room and we eventually got a large room at the back of the hotel. While the room was a decent size I have to advise that the bathroom was tiny - imagine the toilet on an aeroplan and then double that!!!! To close the door you had to stand in the shower recess, now as far as I am concerned that is really poorly designed. Other than that, the staff were all very nice and helpful. The cleaning staff still need some lessons in their jobs, for instance, on one day, the cleaner just walked into the room without knocking!, another time, I had returned to the room at about 3pm to drop off some shopping and the room had not been done, and yet the next day, she was knocking (obviously the complaint was passed on) at 9am!!!! Location wise it was fine, but if you willing to use the subway and to walk, most hotels are in good locations. Would certainly recommend the hotel, if this is the area you want to stay in.

Anne in Australia
