Renting baby equipment on Kauai
We're traveling with our 8 month old to Kauai and I was told there is a company on the island that rents baby equipment- such as highchairs, strollers, cribs, etc.
Does anybody know the name of this company? Thanks. :) |
i've used
www.babysaway.com it's a franchise thing though, so i don't know if they are everywhere. i've used them in S. Florida for three years and they are great. we get a carseat and crib from them, but they rent everything down to tubs of toys and sand toys. and they deliver and pick it up. |
Thanks. I just checked that website, and they don't list Kauai. Oahu, Maui, and the BI, but not Kauai. :(

I just asked someone who rents baby equipment on Maui (Nana Enterprises, for those who might be visiting Maui) and they suggested ReadyRentals.com

Can't answer your specific question, but consider cost. When our kids were little, it was the crib that was the issue. We always brought a stroller to navigate airport, and then used that as high chair in hotel - most restaurants had high chairs. In other locations, when we looked into renting stuff, after about 7 days it was cheaper to buy an item (except crib) at Walmart than renting.

Thanks for the recommendations.
We're staying at a house, so there won't be a highchair available. It's a two story house, so we'll also need a gate. Those are the two items were primarily looking for. |
Walmart.com has high chairs starting at $25 and gates starting at about $35 - hard to imagine you could rent for less than that. To me the idea of buying stuff and leaving it seems financially silly - but check out rental rates first.
Bring a roll of duct tape - essential for baby proofing everything - serves as outlet covers, tape cabinets closed, etc. Just be careful you don't remove paint with the tape when you leave. |
