Renting a cottage on the Cape
Wanted to find out if anyone has rented a place in Dennis. I have been to the cape numerous time, but never in that area. Is it a good place to be? The rents for cottages are much cheaper than further East above the elbow. We like the beach, bike riding and walking into a town for a cup of coffee and just hanging out. We are planning to go the first week in September. Any advice, thoughts?

We rented from acquaintances of my husband for many years in Dennis - great area. "walking into town" might be the aspect you can't get filled - there is not really a town to walk to, but depending on where you are there may be a coffee shop. Make sure you get proof of renting from owner and current instructions on how to get beach permit to park at beach - you can either do it on a weekly basis or pay by the day - and sometimes we foudn it cheaper to pay by the day (walking to beach is, of course, better) Check current regulations for whether beach parking permit is necessary in Sept.
When this cottage became unavailable we once went thru local realtor, once thru VRBO and once thru Craigslist. |
You might check out Commonwealth Associates Real Estate (I have no personal interest in them.)

we have something lined up already to stay near Scargo Lake.. but just curious about the area and can't seem to really find a good website on what to do in and around the area.
