RENTAL CAR THRU PRICELINE
hAS ANYONE USED PRICELINE TO RENT A CAR- AND, DOES IT MAKE SENSE TO HAVE ONE AT VAIL?
|
I have used Priceline a number of times to rent cars. I check the large companies first and then bid lower than the lowest prices I can find elsewhere. I've had great luck each time and have saved money.

tHANKS FOR YOUR MESSAGE. SO- ON PRICELINE AND THRU HERTZ, I HAVE BEEN QOUTED A RATE OF $692 FOR AN SUV FOR A 9 DAY RENTAL. WHAT STEPS DO YOU TAKE NEXT? THANKS.

JILL-------------

Please turn off your "Caps"key. We can hear you. Now I know why you want a SUV. Make sure it comes with a cell phone.

LOUD

I just put in a request for January 7-16 for Vail on budget.com. It came up $474.
Usually when I want to check prices, I use yahoo travel. Unfortunately I put in a request for an SUV in Vail and nothing came up but sedans. Try Budget. Then bid lower on Priceline. Not everyone has had good luck on priceline but I have.

I've never had rental car success with Princeline, but I've used orbitz.com and cheaptickets.com for pretty good rates. Try those websites for a quote, then bid lower on priceline.com. It never works for me, but DON'T rent directly from the company, it's ridiculously expensive. Good luck.

THANKS TO THOSE OF YOU WHO POSTED A HELPFUL RESPONSE. MY ONE PROBLEM USING THE PRICELINE SITE IS I DID NOT SEEM TO BE ABLE TO ENTER EAGLE AS A PICK UP SITE FOR THE CAR WHEN I WENT TO PUT DOWN WHAT I WOULD PAY. THEY ONLY LISTED DENVER OR ASPEN AS PICK UPS SITES. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

In addtion- I was qouted $512 including tax and airport fees for 9 days in a subaru outback.
