rent a cabin at christmas near utah

My family and I, 20 of us, including children would like to rent a condo or cabin for Christmas. This is an idea we had instead of buying presents. Any suggestions?

NEAR Utah? What does that mean? Do you mean IN Utah?

Best classifieds in Utah are at KSL.com. There are over 400 recreational properties for rent, most of which are cabin rentals offered by private owners. We have gotten great deals on large cabins in Park City and condos in Midway through this site.

There are some nice places in Brian Head and the new Eagle Point near Beaver where there is skiing available.

You could go to Christmas Meadows,,,can't remember the name of the resort Bear Creek or something like that, they have snowmobiling

Ranee,

I don't know if you have ever looked at the web site vrbo.com. I've used it 3 times and have beenvery happy with the 3 different properties I used. 1 in Sun Valley, 2 on the Oregon Coast this early summer.

Be prepared to pay top $ during Christmas - as I'm sure you are aware.

You might look into McCall, Idaho. Lots of nice condos and cabins there.

If you are planning to ski, a lot of the northern Utah ski areas book up early and are a little expensive because of the proximity to the Salt Lake's airport, but it can be an interesting and inexpensive time to visit some of Southern Utah's national parks. It can be pretty cold, but the red rocks are pretty with the snow. I also like the four corner's area down around Mesa Verde in Colorado. Here is a place we stayed in several years ago: http://www.lairdcarlson.com/mancos/.
Also, if you plan to ski, I would recommend steering clear of the ski areas adjacent to Salt Lake and take a look at some of the areas farther north like Snow Basin and Powder Mountain. They are above a beautiful valley with a lake and lots of vacation rentals and attract smaller crowds.
We have also enjoyed taking our kids to Granby Ranch a couple of hours from Denver. This place has a lot of vacation homes for rent: http://www.sclodging.com.
