Reno to Tahoe
 

How far is it from the Reno Airport to Lake Tahoe? Will not have an auto, is there public transport or do you have to take a taxi? What would a taxi cost. Thanks.

There is a Tahoe Casino Express (800-446-6128) with 14 departures daily between the Reno/Tahoe International Airport and South Shore Lake Tahoe Resorts: Caesars, Harveys, Harrah's, Horizon, Embassy Suites and Lakeside Inn.

We have not found South Lake Tahoe a great place to be without a car. Restaurant choices are very limited within easy walking distance of the casinos and major hotels.

the bus from the reno airport is a great way to get to tahoe. i think you could easily hang around the casino area for two days but longer then that, i'd rent a car for a day or two because there are beautiful spots to explore. if you like mexican food and have a car, go to the catina - excellant food.
