Rene Pujol in NYC
A few years ago we had a wonderful dinner there. Our friends are visiting NYC for the first time next month. Does this restaurant still serves a good food? Should we recommed it to them? Any other reaturants in the theatre area that should be recommended? They will be there for 3 days.

I've enjoyed it. I didn't think it was quite as great a restaurant as I had somehow expected, but a nice experience. The very best thing about it is that they really know how to do pre-theatre dinners. They will ask you what show you are seeing, know how long it will take you to go there and somehow time everything out so that you are neither rushed nor harried about getting out in time. I normally prefer after theatre to pre-theatre, but this place does a really good job.
Others in the area. Wow! There are so many? Red Eye Grill, Osteria del Circo, Le Bernadin (top of the list in quality and price), Judson Grill are just a few. |
Yes, Rene Pujol is still very good. Other worthy spots in the theater district: Chez Josephine, Le Madeleine, Redeye Grill, Lattanzi, Becco, Orso, Remi.

My parents favorite French restaurant is Rene Pujol. Great service.
I love Remi. Beautiful room, delicious food...but costly. Perfect for lunch. |
Have eaten at Judson Grill twice in past year and both times have been very disappointing , offering very strange seasonal menus. If possible avoid

Thank you all. I will print out your suggestions for them.

I also love Rene Pujol. But I must admit I have not been back in quite a while.
I think it is a great place for a winters day/night meal in NYC! Very Romantic John |
