Renaissance Wailea

Has anyone heard of construction at the Maui Renaissance in Wailea for the end of August? We are planning to go for a week at that time, and the hotel says there will be none, but we have heard that there may be adjacent to the resort. Also, is it worth the trip for 6 full days only (all that our schedules will permit). Thanks for any thoughts. -Mark

Depends if you are going from the Esat or West coast.

We are going from Washington DC (we have frequent flier miles and a steep hotel discount ($85/night) which is why we are considering it)

While I didn't stay there, I did check it out because it's a Marriott related hotel, and I use their points frequently. I loved the place and the location. It is where I would go back to on my next trip to Maui.

Maui is the most spectacular place on earth! It is definately worth the trip for 6 days! We stayed there 2 yrs ago, just be sure to request a room on an upper floor. I didn't like people walking past our room at night. Have an amazing time!

We also live on the East coast and find that the jet lag takes a bit to get over. You can do quite a bit in 6 days because you will possitively be up at 4-5:00 am each day. The jet lag is a killer this way but it is so worth it. Just drink tons of water. The first time I went to Hawaii I didn't drink enough water and felt so tired until I did and the jet lag seemed to go faster.

I was able to get the cheep rate through Marriott's friends and family program (through a Marriott employee).
