Reminder for travelers: new date for daylgiht saving time
Just a reminder for those making travel/business plans...or those waiting for more daylight
or those who may need to start preparing to do manual changes on some computer programs -
Energy Policy Act of 2005 begins this year, changing the dates of daylight saving time -
Clock will now be changed on March 11 (the second Sunday of March instead of the first Sunday of April) and daylight savings will be ending on Nov 4 (first Sunday of November instead of last Sunday of October)....

georgiegirl: I'm sure you can find more online, but here is what I have:
Starting in March 2007, the standard North American period for Daylight Saving Time is to be from the second Sunday of March to the first Sunday of November.
Canadian provinces and territories have announced that this standard will replace their previous practice (from 1987 to 2006, DST was from the first Sunday of April to the last Sunday in October).
Note that for 2007, the time difference between Europe and North America will change for a period of 3 weeks instead of 1 week (2 weeks in March and 1 week in November) and will be in the opposite sense to past experience.

It's THIS weekend that we all need to "spring" ahead, so don't forget to change your clocks before you go to bed on Saturday night (March 10); otherwise, you may be late for church or any early morning travel on Sunday.
