The Episcopal Collegiate School is the best private school, but it only accommodates grades 6 through 12. It's only a couple of blocks from downtown. The Anthony School has a great reputation and I have lots of friends whose children went there. I'm sure you'd be satisfied with it.

I agree that you should look into the Heights area, which is an old Little Rock neighborhood. Real estate prices there are inflated, but primarily because it's the most coveted area for people who've lived in Little Rock for a long time. It's also within close proximity to the Collegiate Episcopal School and Anthony's.
