Buy a suitcase big enough to fit me!

Good luck with your move. Your kids are lucky to be getting such a eye-opening experience so young.

I think a new forum should be created to deal specifically with the "relocation" issue.

Yes, then a forum for those of us who would love to relocate to a place like Thailand , lol.

Although I have been daydreaming of Tuscan farmhouses or Provencal homes lately.

Good luck nj33!!

Get all your shots prior to departure, my friends.

I hated Bangkok when I was there. Everything was so run down and dirty. This was back in the 80s though. :) I was at the Bangkok airport earlier this year during a connecting flight to India. The airport was really bad. I hate flying to Asia their connections are always 6-8 hours wait time.

This isn't your most important tip, but Raja Fashions does terrific custom clothing work at reasonable prices. My friends who lived their raved about them and had a divine silk suit made for me.

Do you have some sort of work contacts that can help you line up domestic help? My friend's experience is that there is a price for the locals when grocery shopping (or any other shopping) than for the expats. I would also see if you can have a recommendation made for a driver. I don't think I'd ever be brave enough to drive/park in the city!

Will you be given a shipping allowance for taking goods from the US there?
