relocation

After researching and reading many helpful posts on this web site, I finally visited N.C.on the way down to Florida.I had my sights set on the Raleigh area but after a 2day visit, my wife and I desided it was too congested. My second choice was the Pinehurst area. What a beautiful laid back town.I was wondering if anyone with knowledge of N.C. can name a few other places on par with Pinehurst?

You might have better luck if you use the words North Carolina in your post title.

If you would still like to live in Raleigh, but don't want the congestion, try the Falls of Neuse area. My daughter and her husband moved there. It's beautiful and is still in easy driving distance of Raleigh proper. My son-in-law works in Raleigh and has little trouble getting to work and back. They love living there.

sorry suze.I thought being on a North Carolina board people would know what N.C.was.How about giving advice instead of trolling for mistakes?

eztime, your query got posted on the United States Board. I don't think there is a North Carolina Board. Everything about anywhere in the US is posted on the same board.

Therefore, a heading like "relocation" has no useful clue as to where you want to be. I agree with Suze. Only people like me with little to do, will click on a simple heading like that.

Yes, suze was giving you friendly advice and you were the snippy one.

A_Traveller Mar 27th, 2007 05:17 AM

suze's is only trying to be helpful - there is no "North Carolina" board - all posts end up on the United States Forum even though you may think it's posting under North Carolina. That's why she recommended putting the name of the state in the title of your post. If you do, you are bound to get a lot more responses.

Sorry, I'm not from that area so I an't give you any specifics but if you use the search feature the subject has been discussed numerous times so you'll find lots of posts about relocation to various areas in North Carolina.

Good luck in your quest.

Non-congested, laid-back little towns? NC is full of them.

For really small towns, like Pinehurst, and small cities, look at (in no particular order):

Manteo
Washington
New Bern
Elizabeth City
Southport
Wilmington
Greensboro
Winston-Salem
Kernersville
Clemmons
High Point
Mt. Airy
Dobson
Boone
Cashiers
Asheville
Hendersonville
Waynesville

I'll add Black Mt. & Elkin to beach dwellers list. Some other information from the OP would also be helpful. Do you need to be close to an Airport, $$$ situation as far as price (Pinehurst isn't cheap), amenities such as theatre & the arts, etc.

Brutforce Mar 29th, 2007 07:45 AM

Ther is no "NC board". By clicking on NC you are merely making it easier to search later. A more detailed title/header will elicit more responses to your query.
