Relocating to Seattle area, where are the best schools?

We plan to move to Redmond / Seattle area. We've got 3 kids at elementary school. Which is the best school district to move to. Are there any private schools, too? Would be great to learn anything about the school districts and / or where to get more information
Thanks,
Josy

You might want to contact the Redmond Chamber of Commerce. Also, your company that you're relocating with. Lakeside is an excellent private school (highly competitive - Bill Gates' alma mater) as well as The Bush School (but it's in Seattle itself). Redmond has very good schools overall as does Bellevue. The Lake WA school district is one of the best in the state.

I live in Bellevue and have a first grader in public school and am blown away by what a good public school system I am in. I went to private school my whole life and this is much better. Lake Washington is probably the best district. There are many fine schools. Try searching the seattletimes.com to see if they might have a score listing for all schools in the area. I know Barnes and Noble carried a private school review at one time for this area.

If you're going to mention good schools, you cannot leave out Mercer Island. MI has consistently the best public schools in the state as evidenced by their test scores, and corroborated by my friends that have to elementary children there. Not far from Redmond either. Very expensive homes though, but that's not a novelty around here anymore. Good luck.

For a private school, try Bellevue Christian in Medina (Bellevue).

Hello Josy. The Northshore school district and I believe the Issaquah school district are also excellant with public schools. Northshore is Bothell, WA. My daughter goes there and I am very impreseed with the teachers and education. I would never move and take her out of the schools in my area. Good luck and welcome to Washington. All the suggestions are very good places. I don't think you will go wrong in this area.
