any comments on Ambler? Wyndmoor? so much new construction in the Blue Bell area- nice homes with little character amd altho affordable (coming from Boston) too much space for me. all are 4 bedroom executive homes. What about for the single person who wants new but charm charm charm?

Ambler might be just what you're looking for. Lots of older homes with character. Nice little downtown area. Not too far from the turnpike entrance at Fort Washington. Also, it's outside the city limits and avoids the wage tax. Did you look at any homes in BlueBell outside of the Country Club Estates. Also try Plymouth Meeting, Worcester,Erdenheim--they're all relatively close to Blue Bell.

A few ppl have mentioned AMBLER as a potential. Actualy I had dinner at Ralpsh the other nite- very good I believe in the downtown area of Ambler. Also, Devon and Wayne have been mentioned. Someone said to me...if you live in Doylestown- that sais something about your address. I admit that I guess in some ways thats important to me... Are there other areas that would do the same?

Devon and Wayne are definitely "good addresses". Housing costs also reflect that. However, you will not have a pleasant drive to Blue Bell from those areas. Worcester is also a "good address" and is right next to Blue Bell. <BR>As I said before. Look around Blue Bell. There are some charming older homes is nice neighborhoods.
