rehearsal dinner in san francisco
 

Hi Fodorites: once again, I call on your wonderful advice. We need to find a restaurant, venue, etc. for a wedding rehearsal dinner this fall in San Francisco. We would like a private room or to take over a smaller restaurant that can comfortably hold 60 people.

Our idea lwould be : somewhere with good food, not very formal, moderately priced ($30 or so PP) and that has a fun or beautiful ambiance.

We're east coasters and could really use and appreciate your help.

Sha, before I commit to thinking about this (:-)), do you mean the entree price is $30 or so PP, or the whole meal, all in with drinks, tip and tax?

yes - please clarify your budget -- and where is the rehearsal being held? That could make a big difference where it is practical to hold the dinner.

60 people, I think, is just about perfect to take over the entire patio at Bocce Cafe. Ask for Ramon.

Thank you for your help. I should've clarified....$30 maximumm for entree...perhaps, $40PP. The rehearsal will be in the city and we would like to be easily accessible by cab/car to Nob Hill.
