<i>This is a great shopping area with all the major stores.</i>
It is, one of the last great outdoor malls in the country. Has everything from Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom to Macy's to the upscale supermartket Andronico's, and everything in between. There's even a branch of the Creamery in the mall (I thought it was mentioned above, but can't find it -- its an institution in downtown Palo Alto - classic diner food). The mall is adjacent to (just north of) the Stanford U. campus. |
It also has Louis Vuitton, Neiman Marcus, Frette, Kate Spade, Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Ermengildo Zegna, Armani Exchange, Wilkes Bashford, etc., etc...

I think the Papua New Guinea Sculpture Garden, on Santa Teresa St. near Tresidder Union on Stanford Campus is a very interesting place to visit.
http://www.stanford.edu/~mjpeters/png/index.html If the weather is nice, I would combine this with a $2 trip to the top of Hoover Tower (before 4) for a gorgeous view of the Peninsula, and a free visit to the Cantor Art Center and nearby Andy Goldsworthy installation of Stone River. Here, also, you can have a delicious snack at local favorite Jesse Cool's Cool Café, and see an outstanding collection of Rodin. http://museum.stanford.edu/visit/public_tours.html |
the rodin sculpture garden at stanford truly is outstanding.
|
I'm pretty sure the Rodin museum at Stanford has more pieces than any place in the world other than the Rodin Museum in Paris.
|
Kailani, every year I take my second grade students to the Cantor. Stone River is a favorite of most of the students.
