REDEEMING MARRIOTT POINTS - what the nices hotel in Florida

What is the nicest Marriott hotel in Florida?

Good question:
Renaissance Biscayne Bay in Miami
Hutchinson Island Marriott
JW Marriott on Brickell in Miami

or if you can wait until next July:
JW Marriott Grande Lakes Resort at Orlando.

If you have lots of points you can redeem at any of the Florida Ritz Carltons. We just did for March 22-25 on Key Biscayne. There was no blackout which I had expected because of the Nasdaq Tennis tournament.

The Marriott on the beach in Fort Lauderdale is very nice and we have enjoyed the Marriott South Beach. It was a little south of all the action on Ocean Drive but still close and very close to the Big Pink, Nemos, Joes Stone Crab and my fave, Smith and Wollensky's (location, location).

You can also redeem your points at the Eden Roc resort, hubba hubba. It has been nicely renovated and you'll think your part of the Rat Pack if you stay there.

I would highly recommend the Rennaissance Vinoy Resort in St Petersburg, FL. It is a beautiful property and is on the historical register.

Maria, when will you be going? We will be staying at the Marriott Resort on Fort Lauderdale beach in February. My Husband went to check it out in August and he said it was Beautifull. I also heard that the one in St.Petersbug was Fabulous but much more sedate.

Marriott Ocean Pointe on Singer Island

LilMsFoodie Nov 22nd, 2002 02:21 AM

just so you know, Ocean Pointe is a time share resort with no hotel amenities like room service, decent restaurant, etc. We own one in Orlando which we like but it is no substitute for a full service hotel

Has anyone stayed on Marco Island at the Marriott lately? I heard it is under renovation, will it be finished by Easter?
