Red, White, Blue on September 11

Maybe you all have seen on TV or received the same emails that I have but to show our respect for those lost in the September 11 tragedy and for all the Heroes who worked so hard.....on September 11 in their memory and for respect we all wear RED, WHITE and BLUE to work or school.

It was also mentioned that at exactly noon in your time zone you stop for a moment, put your hand over your heart and say the Pledge of Allegiance out loud and say a prayer for our nation.

This sounds like a great way to join together in unity.
Please share this with others. Frank

Yes, I did receive an email this as well and forwarded it on to many. It will be a nice way to show our respect. I'm sure there will be more publicity as we get closer to September 11. Thanks for the public service Frank.
Carol

Here in Tampa, people are lining Bayshore Blvd waving flags. There has been a small group that has done it every Friday since 9/11/01 and should be for several miles on 9/11/02.

I may take a flight somewhere on Delta out of ATL....just to show my support for the USA and our airlines!

bruce Aug 16th, 2002 05:54 PM

Yes, I think this will show respect. Don't forget to fly your flag high as well. Bruce

On September 11, I truly hope people do whatever they feel is right for them, in their hearts. It would be travesty should the day be turned into some kind of grotesque, rote dog-n-pony show.

Maggie Aug 16th, 2002 07:23 PM

Randy,
You make a good point. If anyone needs some support right now to survive, it's the airlines. I can't imagine American life without 'em!

God Bless the all the Heroes of 9/11. It will be a tough day for all of us!
Maggie

Great Posting!
Ben

Someone around here had what I thought was an excellent idea of putting out luminaria on the evening of Sept. 11 in honor of the victims. I think I'll do that as well.

Besides showing our patriotism on 9/11/02 by wearing & displaying "the colors", also do something more that counts - take TIME to give blood, call an old friend that you'd miss if they were gone, hug a loved one, let someone go before you in line, etc. Most of us can give money - how about giving of yourself, before it's too late?

Bob Aug 17th, 2002 10:06 AM

I think I'm gonna puke...............

Jen Aug 17th, 2002 10:13 AM

Dakotah,
That is a great idea. It's easy to forget things like this that make such a HUGE difference. I will definitely give blood (as well as wear red, white and blue and say the pledge at noon)! Jen

http://www.number-10.gov.uk/output/Page5878.asp ,here is the link for details of the memorial garden that is to be built in London.
the whole world will be supporting you on the anniversary.
my UK work place is trying to organise something appropriate any ideas welcome

I love Dakotah's response. I am not criticizing wearing red, white and blue but aren't there more meaningful ways of contributing?
Kindness is much more important than waving the colors.
