Red Sox tickets
 

Sat. 12/12 first batch of Red Sox tickets go on sale - usually for early spring April/May games only plus 4-packs (4 games they get to pick which ones).

Frustrating experience at best - usually I spend hours in the "Virtual Waiting Room" but since this is a frequent question here, thought others might want info. Rest of season goes on sale in mid-winter. Yankees games, Green Monster seats sold thru lottery - you can register for that on-line later in the winter.

Last year I thought that with bad economy tickets would be a bit easier to get on-line. My experience was that they were not.

For home games early in the season - but they do also sell Red Sox travel packages to select games in other cities.

I got the email also. Got up this am at 6:50 to be ready to log in at 7:00 PST
Logged on and also called the 888 number. After an hour and 22 minute wait
the phone clicked in.
Got 4 tix for May 12th game with Toronto. Grandstand section 15 Row 8

dok - interesting, since we spent all day in 12 "Virtual Waiting Rooms" trying to buy 4-game packages, with no success. People are supposed to be taken randomly from those waiting. At 4 PM I was annoyed, had run out of things to do while sitting in front of computer, so asked DH to call the 888 number (sold only single games on phone). He immediately got into the automated system that time and we were able to have our pick of a wide range of tickets for 2 different games in April and May.

Around 5 PM we got into the on-line system and bought a 4-game pack - and our first choice package out of 10.

So I think there might be a future lesson here - especially for those who want summer or fall games, which will go on sale in mid-winter - usually around early Feb. If you are interested, sign up for email alert on redsox.com.
