Red Roof Inn Manhattan
 

Has anyone stayed here? Have read some good reviews. The price is right at $100/night but I don't want to make a mistake. Any comments would be appreciated.

Devi:<BR><BR>I stayed there about a year ago. It is a new property in an OK location (32nd street) The rooms were clean and a good size. The staff were friendly. You are in the heart of "Little Korea", a busy resturant-business area. The Empire State Bldg is a stone toss away! At $100 it is a great deal! You should not be dissapointed. PS: Always look to see the room, if it is not up to snuff, ask for a back corner room. It should be larger and quieter!<BR>JOHN

I have no personal knowledge but I do walk by frequently. West 32nd between 5th and 6th Avenues is known as "Little Korea". It is a largely commercial area and almost every business is Korean or Asian owned. LOts of restaurants. The street is very busy during the business day but it does quiet down in the evening. Subway transportation is a long block away. Macy's is a five minute walk.<BR>Times Square is a little more than 1/2 miles west and north. It is a less than a 15 minute walk. Places look okay from the outside.

I haven't seen the Red Roof but have stayed at the Hotel Stanford on 32nd by Broadway. All the comments about this area are accurate. The only shortcoming is a limited number of dining options at night (other than Korean restaurants). With so many restaurants available elsewhere within relatively close range, I see this shortcoming as a non-issue.

You can stay at a four star hotel almost anywhere in Manhattan for $100 thru Priceline. Why spend that amount on a two or three star?
