Red Poppy for Veterans/Remembrance Day
When I was a kid we all wore red poppy's for remembrance day - grew up in Canada
I dont see many of them around in this community- where do you think you would go to get a red poppy to wear for Veterans Day? I was thinking of checking the Vets Club |
Try a local branch of the American Legion, or the nearest Canadian embassy or consular office. There are 23 Canadian consular offices in the USA.

In my community there is a group of veterans that comes to the local shopping center each year. They have poppies available for several days leading up to Veterans Day. I just got my poppy yesterday. I recall when I was a child there were many more veterans giving out poppies in many parts of downtown Boston. I live outside the city now and there aren't many veterans giving out poppies, although I don't really look beyond the local shopping center - there may be other groups set up in similar fashion in other communities.
I suggest you check the local media to see if there are Veterans Day events in your local community - you could contact the organizers for information about local veterans groups. As cdymul wrote above, the local branch of the American Legion is also a good place to start. And, a heartfelt thank you to our veterans who have served their country(ies) so selflessly and courageously. |
