I've used scopolomine patches which worked wonders with me. They are a prescription patch that you place, for example, behind your ear. I've tried dramamine - did nothing for me.

I don't get motion sickness on planes but suffer from a big old case of anxiety. My doctor prescribed Xanax and it's worked like a charm. I would suggest experimenting with dosage though BEFORE you leave. I can only take 3/4 to 1 Xanax whereas a friend of mine needs two pills. I don't like feeling sleepy--just relaxed, and this does the trick.

I have suffered motion sickness since I was a child and have tried almost everything.

Dramamine was like a placebo and Bonine only helped a little bit.

I tried the bands on a cruise, and was nauseated for half the week--didn't work very well.

I now use the patch (prescription). It does dry you out and you can become somewhat groggy, but it beats embarrassing yourself on the flight. I usually have my land legs back after 24 hours.
