A fantastic video to watch before going would be:

The Mystery of Chaco Canyon narrarated by Robert Redford. Very interesting!! Check out this website for info where you can rent/buy it. Highly recommend this viewing.

(peterboy mentioned this project above)

There is another video but can't think of it. Will post it later. But check this one out as it will make your visit much more interesting.

Thank you Peterboy and Beachgirl for the websites to do more research before our visit. A while back I saw part of a documentary on PBS, can't remember if it is the one narrated by Robert Redford. That's what first interested me in visiting Chaco. I had never heard of it before.

I have read some material on the native American cultures of the southwest before other trips to the region, but appreciated the suggestion of "Anasazi America". I like to learn about an area before we visit.

I think we will probably stay in Farmington or Bloomfield the night before we go to Chaco. I also read somewhere else (can't remember where) that it is better to take the road from the north instead of the road from the south. Hopefully we will get a flight into ABQ by noon and have plenty of time to travel north.

Thanks again to all of you who have given me much wonderful information.
