1974-75. I can't remember the name now but we lived in the condos that were on the east side, close to I-5 but up on the hill. We bought a small house on Quail Road north of Escondido and later moved to a larger home further out on North Broadway.

The first time I visited Coronado Island was probably in the late 90s/early 2000s. I felt like I was stepping back into the 1950s. It was almost surreal. I wonder if it's still like that.

Thank you all. elizzie4000, I am female. My leather jacket is not waterproof but it looks stylish. It is this one: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/classiqu...esults-_-1_3_B.

I just love it. That's why I was asking. I am coming from Seattle where it rains and it's cold now, so I don't get enough time to wear it. I have a nice rain jacket, of course, but I was hoping to avoid wearing it.

Pintxos, it's really pouring today but the storm is supposed to pass through by tonight. It looks like the weekend should be pretty nice and in the 60's. More rain on the way but not until next Tuesday so I think you may be gone by then. I've lived in San Diego County for 25 yrs and still love Coronado. The Hotel Del Coronado is beautiful this time of year all decorated for Christmas. The Midway Museum is one of my favorites in San Diego and it's fun to go to Little Italy. It's only a few blocks long but has a nice atmosphere. Enjoy your trip.

The weekend couldn't have been better. I love San Diego. The location was so wonderful and Gaslamp district on a Saturday night is a must-see for everyone and anyone. I should have taken a ferry to Coronado, but I ran out of time. Another reason to return to San Diego, which is quickly becoming my favorite U.S. destination.
