Well if you are staying around Anchorage, the 26 Glacier Tour out of Whittier is your best best. It would help if you posted all of the cities you plan to visit. Are you going to the inside passage as well?

To be honest with you we are just started to make up an itinerary and can conform as to the best areas to go to see the best of the glaciers. We can travel anywhere. There is no set schedule nor place. If the 26 glaciers are the best of the best out of Anchorage then we can do that. If Whittier is a good spot, we can try to do that as well. We just need good suggestions. Anything will help us. From there we can figure out our itinerary with everyone's help. Thanks again.

We enjoyed the Kenai Fjords cruise out of Seward. We took the longest one and went past several glaciers before stopping in ice filled water to watch a glacier calve. We also flew over a glacier on a short flight from Seldovia to Homer. You can probably take a short flight from Homer with Smokey Bay. You can take a tram ride to the top of Mt Alyeska and view several glaciers. There was snow at the top in late July when we visited. We did not take a dog sled ride on a glacier, but that's another way you can see a glacier.

The glacier boat tours out of Whittier are just excellent in my opinion. The tours are for the glacier viewing, where as Kenai fjords has glacier viewing as part of their tours. The above reference is for Whittier, no tours out of Anchorage. 60 miles to Whittier.
