Recommend suite for convention - anaheim
Two of my coworkers and I will be sharing a room for a convention in April in Anaheim. We like to get a suite because it has so much more room than if we shared a hotel room. The convention organizers travel bureau has the following hotels set up
1. Anabella Hotel 2. Anaheim Marriott* 3. Best Western Raffles Inn & Suites 4. Best Western Stovall?s Inn 5. Candy Cane Inn 6. Castle Inn & Suites 7. Clarion Hotel Anaheim Resort 8. Coast Anaheim Hotel 9. Disneyland® Hotel 10. Disney?s Grand Californian Hotel® 11. Disney?s Paradise Pier® Hotel 12. Hilton Anaheim* 13. Holiday Inn Express Maingate 14. Hyatt Regency Orange County 15. Portofino Inn & Suites 16. Radisson Hotel Maingate? Anaheim 17. Ramada Plaza Hotel? Anaheim Resort? 18. Travelodge International Inn We really like Embassy Suites and were looking to stay at the Embassy Suites South which is less than a mile from the convention center, but it is not listed. We would like to get your feedback on the hotels above. We are looking for hotels with a nice suite, complementary breakfast if possible. Or should we just book at the Embassy suites? Thanks. |
If your convention is in the convention center then the Hilton that is right next to it is definitely the most convenient. It's nice, and if you get on a special floor in the towers there are complimentary snacks and a complimentary breakfast bar in the lobby just for guests on that floor. Pool is olympic size.

Thanks Melissajoy! The convention is in the convention center. In the Hilton, are those perks on that the Lanai level or the executive level?
I definitely welcome more input. |
The Hilton and the Marriott are adjacent to the convention center and are, thus, the most convenient. Obviously, you pay a premium for being on the Towers level, especially if you're talking about a suite.
The fact that the Embassy Suites is not on the convention list simply means that the facility is not one of the hotels that convention management booked a block of rooms in. It doesn't mean that you can't book a suite on your own. |
You can obviously book the Embassy Suites on your own - but then transport to the CC might be a problem. If the convention shuttle doesn't include the ES on its route you will be stuck taking cabs. And we found them to be few and far between in Anaheim at a recent meeting - somethimes having to wait up to 15/20 minutes to get one.
Rather than take an upscale suite - wouldn;t it be less expensive to take 2 basic rooms - IMHO much more privacy - and less inconvenient when you are doing different things at different hours. |
