Hi Katie. Try Tatsukichi at 189 State Street, Boston. This is the restaurant my Japanese friends say is the best, most authentic in the area. The food is wonderful. It's a little pricey but worth it.

Never been here, but Fugakyu on Beacon St. in Brookline seems to be the "in" place right now. Celebs in town making films seem to show up there frequently. Very easy to reach from Back Bay via T or taxi. Just another option to look into.

I've been to Fugakyu. It's good, great atmosphere. Very popular. If you end up down in Coolidge Corner and can't get a table at Fugakyu...don't worry, there's about 6 additional sushi restaurants within a block or two!
