Recommend a bed & breakfast in New Orleans for October.
Anyone want to recommend a bed and breakfast in New Orleans? Also restaurants, sights, parks and tours.

I recommend you go to www.travelandleisure.com and read the April 2002 article "America's Next Great Neighborhoods". The Faubourg Marigny, adjacent to the French Quarter, is featured in this article....they also list a few B&Bs they like. Also, Compass America's, "New Orleans", written by local, Bethany Bultman, is IMHO the best guide to New Orleans.

Try this website: http://www.bnbfinder.com/bedandbreakfast/Level3/8828<BR>La Maison Marigny is listed as one of Travel and Leisure Magazine's "Top Ten B&Bs" - and John used to be one of the most informative posters on Fodor's. We miss him!

A lot depends on where you want to stay. French Quarter, Garden District, near Tulane, etc? I like the Chimes Bed and Breakfast in the Garden District. The owners are great. Another good option is a place called Degas House on Esplanade Avenue, which is near City Park.

I forgot to mention that movie stars stay at Claiborne Mansion. It's near the French Quarter. Look it up on the web!
