Reception/wedding/fun place to visit. Please Help!

Where would you suggest to look for a great wedding reception place. I want to have a church wedding. Then have the reception at a place that has a wonderful water view, or maybe has a deck. I don't know how I feel about going to a restaurant.

Then all of our guests will need lodging. It is my hope that I can get houses for everyoe to share.

I don't want to be too far south......Charleston is pushing it. Pawley's Island....etc., would be great.
Have you thought about somewhere in Annapolis, MD? Or maybe the Outer Banks in North Carolina? Two of my favorite "on the water" spots. . . not sure of specific reception site, but would be easy enough to research.

Not interested in MD. At all. But thank you for the suggestion.

The outer banks are too far out there. That was why I was trying to do the coast of SC. If I go into NC I will go to Wilmington, Figure Eight etc. So far I can't find a place to have a reception that is on the water. Any ideas?

Where do you live?

Litchfield Plantation in Pawleys Island. It is a small hotel on a 260 year old former rice plantation. The entrance is lined with 250 year old live oaks covered in spanish moss. Gorgeous.

I posted to your other reply on the NC board.

I live in DC. Litchfield is pretty. But like I said before I want a place on the water.

Ever thought about posting this on one of the bridal websites? Obviously the advice you are getting here is not to your liking.

that is why I am here. The bridal website didn't work at all.

I'm beginning to think that beach spots, have something against water. Even golf courses aren't close to the water.

Talk to you fiance about it. Maybe your family members. Sounds like you are asking strangers (here, wedding site) and no one can help you anyway.

By the way, did you notice that your post doesn't say anything about WHERE you are or where you want to be???

Obviously Me doesn't know. Every suggestion has been shot done.

Litchfield Plantation has an ocean front beach house ON Pawleys Island and I've attended several weddings there.

You probably couldn't afford Litchfield Plantation.
