Recent trip to DC

Just had to post a message to thank all of you for input on where to eat in Dupont Circle. We had a wonderful stay at the St. Gregory Hotel. The room was wonderful and the hotel staff was so accommodating. The only negative thing was the street noise at night but they had a boom box with CD in the room so could muffle out the noise. The restaurants were excellent. Some of the ones we really enjoyed were Mimi's, Pizza Paradiso (Had to go there twice), Krammers, Vida's and Bread and Chocolate. Had wonderful ice cream at Larry's too! Thanks for all your input. We are so glad we chose Dupont Circle over Alexandria. The transit system is so easy to use. Absolutely loved our stay in DC.

We will be in DC for my son's b-day. We were thinking of going to Mimi's after the Kennedy Center for his birthday dinner. Is this the restaurant where the waiter's sing? How was the food? Costs?

Thanks for your help.
Nick

The food at Mimi's is pretty good. Tends towards middle eastern and mediteranian, but something to please everyone. The owner is known for a group of restaurants (Luna) which is recognized for very reasonable "comfort food" leaning towards, the funky, vegetarian.

Entrees are in the mid- to upper-teens. Nice bar.

Thanks for the heads up on the food.

Does anyone know if the waitstaff sings?

Thanks,
Nick
