Reasonable lodging in Naples
My daughter and I will be staying in Naples for 4 days in February. Can anyone recommend an affordable, nice, clean hotel- as close to the beach as possible. I know Naples is pricey, so I am looking for suggestion.

Wow...I hope you can find something at this point. I like the Vanderbilt Beach Hotel. It's a little north of Naples, but easy access and on a beautiful stretch of beach. It will be more expensive than off season, but it's still a pretty good deal.

Your best bet, if you want to be close to the beach and close to downtown Naples itself is probably the LaQuinta or the Fairfield Inn, both on 41 just over the bridge to the east of downtown. Hopefully you can get between $100 and $150 there.
Being on the beach at Vanderbilt could be great, but I think in February you're probably talking at least $200-250 if they even have anything available for February at this late date. Another option is the LemonTree Inn, a little older motel conversion to a sort of cute bed and breakfast which is right downtown, on 41 and a short walk to the restaurants and shops of 5th Avenue. They usually have rooms for around $130 a night in season. |
I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Naples (on 41) a couple of years ago. I found it to be clean and convenient - can walk to the beach if I remember? I recall the pool area being very attractive and well kept with nice landscaping. Rates are very reasonable.

I just booked a 2br suite with full kitchen at the BellaSera. They also have 1 BR and studio units. Try expedia.com or hotels.com for reservations. You do have to take the complementary shuttle to the beach or walk one mile to get there, but the reviews of former guests are very consistently positive.
