Reasonable condo/townhouse/house for rent in NYC in November

vrbo is good - but even w/ them you have to be VERY careful.
I know of two instances (neither one was in NYC) where a new property was listed on vrbo and some renters were sucked in, only to have the listing pulled after vrbo discovered they were frauds.

Suggest that you post the web site that you found this on as well as the exact address of the apartment. Also - is there a local landline phone that is live - if not, again a sign of a possible scam.
There are several "companies" that survive simply by scamming tourists on things like this. Either the apartment doesn't exist at all - or it turns out to be a rat-infested fifth floor walk-up tenement studio. Or somehow your apartment was "double-booked" but they can give you something nice for 3X the price.
There are plenty of us on the board who live in NYC and can tell from the address - or even just a quick glance at the building - if this is real or not.
Also suggest you check out the company with the NYC BBB to see how many complaints they have had.
Perhaps it's real - but if things sound too good to be true they usually are. (If someone offered to sell you a brand new Porsche for $25,000 wouldn't you check it out 3 ways from Sunday before putting your money down?)
