Reasonable Chicago Hotels

My friends and I are going to Chicago at the end of July for The Great Urban Race. We are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a good area of downtown. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The Red Roof Inn just off Michigan on Ontario is very reasonably priced in an excellent location.

A few years ago we stayed at the Best Western on Ohio Street just a couple of blocks off Michigan Avenue and the Magnificant Mile. I think there are two; this was the one nearest the lake.

Look at Hotwire.com and maybe try Priceline, "name your own price". You can see how the bids and blind purchases are going at www.betterbidding.com

We thought the Allegro was reasonable.
I'd also suggest Priceline.

What price do you consider reasonable? I would try quikbook.com
