Rave about Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel

We are enjoying a four-night stay at this lovely hotel, as my husband has a conference here. It is much nicer even than I expected. The setting is spectacular, with full ocean views, gorgeous manicured grounds, beautiful architecture.

The most noticeable feature is the excellent service. Everyone we've encountered has gone out of their way to answer our question, and/or show us around. We dined at the restaurant 162', which was amazing service and food, with an ocean view from the expansive window next to our table. (Expensive dining, of course, but it IS the Ritz.)

What prompted me to post is this morning's room service surprise. I called for a continental breakfast. In ordering, I was commenting that I wished their continental breakfast included fruits. On the menu, it is three pastries, juice, coffee and milk. A side of fruit would have been expensive, so I didn't order it.

But, when my order arrived, there was a hand-written note card in an envelope, addressed to me by name. It wished me a lovely Sunday, AND my order included a full plate of fruits and yoghurt, compliments of Ritz room service. What a nice, personal touch.

This hotel is too pricey most people, I'm sure. We probably wouldn't be here, if we weren't getting an amazing conference rate ($199). But, if you want to splurge and be pampered, this is the place.

We love the Ritz and at $199 a night..dang, I'm tempted to get the wife and hang for a couple of days..but were taking the boat to Avalon for the week..we'll wave as we sail by.
Have a great time!

ksucat, that price was just for the conference attendees. I imagine our room would normally be twice that amount. We just returned from the beach, down below the hotel. Complimentary umbrellas, chairs, towels, boogie boards provided by the hotel. We will eat again tonight at 162' because it was so fabulous. Tomorrow we leave. Waaaa!

Have done several meetings at that hotel and it's a great property. Very well-run - even when you're dealing with attendees that can sometimes be demanding. Since we arrange the whole thing they always give us complimentary suites with a bottle of wine. When I thanked them but mentioned I don;t drink while on business they replaced with a fruit basket and a box of extremely upscale chocolates.

NYTraveler, that's the kind of service you remember, isn't it?

from what I remember, room rates are 3-4 times that..especially during the summer..service is exceptional.
I want to be part of your conference!
