It's on Esplanade Ave, just outside the Quarter, in Treme. Basically, this means it's beyond Rampart Street. It looks nice, but that area can get dicey at times. Take a cab at night.

Hi bashful, What a cute user name! Anyway, about the Rathbone Inn, I stayed there once and it was okay. Nothing great, nothing horrible, just okay. I think you can probably find a better place, to be honest with you. Respectfully, Leslie

Bashful, when are you going? I am going this Thursday 2/20 and staying there as well. I am getting it on trade with my company and was wondering the same thing. If you are going after 2/23, I'll be glad to give you a full review.

Hi Bashful,
Just got back from NOLA this past weekend and although the weather was not cooperative the stay at the Rathbone Inn was very nice. We stayed in the Jazz Fest suite and it was very big - two bedrooms, big living room, kitchenette. There were fresh flowers in the room and a little continental breakfast in the morning. In the evening there is wine and cheese. Tina, the owner is very nice and is opening a new property across the street with a pool. The Rathbone is about two blocks north of Rampart, which takes you into the French Quarter. It was very safe for walking during the day but I would definitely suggest cabs for evening time. I understand the Mardi Gras Suite has a huge balcony facing the street. I would request that the next time I went back. The only downfall is that is not in the French Quarter, but I would go back.

Hi Bashful,
I would stay there again, but would like to try a new place in the French Quarter, so we would be closer. It's old but I think you will like it. What made you consider it?
Please have dinner one night at Gabrielle, the other way on Esplanade away from the French Quarter. It was amazing!
