Ranger talks/walks do you book in advance or only on the day?

If you want to do a walk or talk from the ranger programme in North Rim, Zion or Bryce can you book in advance or do you have to be staying in the park and book for that day?

Hi Planning Ahead,

The good news is that this is one thing you DON'T have to plan ahead! You just show up at the meeting point. Check at the Visitor's Centers for walk/talk descriptions, times, and starting point.

The only advance res required hike I know of is the Firey Furnace in Arches. It also has a fee. Last I checked it was $15/pp.

Thanks Dayle
Does that mean there is no limit on numbers then. We want to do full moon walk at some point and would be terribly disappointed if it was oversubscribed after we had got there.

Where are you doing your full moon walk? Sounds fun! I wouldn't worry about numbers. There usually aren't big crowds.

Hopefully in Bryce. Although I think the other parks do them too. This is for 2008 but part of the planning of the trip is around dates of full moon as we have been told its a must do.

If I have a specific question, like exact, current trail conditions, I just call the Visitor's Center direct. Best source of info you can get! If the full moon walk has become popular, you might want to ask them specifically whether res are needed.
