Ramada at Nags Head Beach

Can anyone give me input on the above hotel? Good/bad/indifferent?

_IF_ I remember right, it is a high-story hotel right on the beach, near the bridge to Manteo.

I've never stayed there so I can't give a recommendation on the rooms, but it's close to the outlet mall (_if_ I'm thinking of the right place, between mile markers 14 and 17 ish)

There's not a lot of noise in the Outer Banks (unlike Manhattan) so having a higher floor isn't an advantage/disadvantage.

Advantage of an upper room depends on the height of the waves!

We stayed there last April. It is aging (70's style), but it was clean and we had no problems. It is on the beach, with a smallish indoor pool. If you are looking for a basic clean economy hotel with no frills, I would say it is fine.

Years ago they had a dolphin tour that took off from the beach at the hotel. It was really outstanding.

Didn't stay in the hotel, but had to go in it to buy 'tickets' to the dolphin tour.

Agree. Basically an old hotel, typical of beachfront properties. As I recall, there were not very many large chains on the OB..
