Raleigh to Winston Salem

Best wineries or historic places to visit between Raleigh and Winston-Salem North Carolina

Well, they are mighty close. You would enjoy visiting historic Hillsbourough and the Vietri outlet there. Winston of course, has historic Old Salem.
on Route 52 outside Winston is the Childress winery which is lovely. Along I40 west of Winston are several that I cannot call the name. There are a number more in the Yadkin River winery corridor.
South of Greensboro, is the pottery capital of NC (and maybe the world) in Seagrove. There are over 100 potteries. You would want to visit the center there, then Jugtown Pottery and Ben Owen IV's pottery in particular, Luck's. There are traditional potteries that date from the 1700's as well as raku and glass potters. It's a treasure trove. When something happened to the jasper clay for Wedgwood in England, they got it from this area.
