raleigh/durham vs asheville

Planning a 3 day trip to NC, never been there. Like good food, cute towns, shopping, pretty architecture, nature a plus but not priority. Which would I like better: Chapel Hill/raleigh vs Asheville? Thanks

I vote for Asheville, although Chapel Hill/Raleigh is lovely, too. Check out my trip report on Asheville and let me know if you have any other questions.

My vote goes to Asheville. I live halfway between the two towns and would always choose Asheville for a holiday. I do go to the Raleigh area periodically on business and there are some interesting things to do and very nice areas, but I think Asheville is the better fit for you. (and me!)
