Rain in Wailea in April? How bad is it?

Hi everyone! We are heading to Wailea for a week this Friday. I checked weather.com and saw it is RAINING and WINDY the whole time we are there. I am so bummed about this. I know there is not a lot I can do about it, but I heard that it only rains for a few minutes...is that what they mean by rain? or should we prepare ourselves for a soggy, sunless vacation? Thanks!

I wouldn't worry about it.

I've been there...I don't know how many times and I really can't remember a single time rain spoiled my vacation. That's the sunnier part of the island and I think you'll be fine.

Wailea is in a dry area. Map of annual rainfall:

Got back from there, just over a week ago, spent 8 nights in Wailea, and maybe we had a few minutes of drizzle. In previous trips, we have seen days where we have been rained out in Kapalua, rained on in Kaanapali, drizzled on in Lahaina, but golfed in the sun in bone-dry Wailea. There's cactus there for a reason.... you should be fine!
