Rain in L.A.

I know this isn't a newsflash, but it's only October!

wantagig Oct 16th, 2005 11:54 AM

Here's a newsflash for ya.....there's rain in Palm Springs! Now THAT'S weird!

L84SKY Oct 16th, 2005 04:00 PM

It drizzled in San Diego today, had to put on a sweater just to walk the dog by the beach. And we must have said, "it's only October!" twice today. I don't miss the Santa Anas but I don't like it when the weather is wonky.

Thunder lightning & downpours in Long Beach!

gigib Oct 17th, 2005 11:49 AM

Hail and lightning in mid-Wilshire; 12:45 p.m. Oct. 17.!
It NEVER does this in October!

peeky Oct 17th, 2005 12:02 PM

thunder and lightening very very frightening to meeeeeeeeeeeeee to meeeeeeeeeeee.

Thor was thundering a bit ago above me.

Here in San Diego we have an urban flood warning until 5pm today. Our rains last year began in October too.

gigib Oct 17th, 2005 12:52 PM

I like crazy weather, as long as it isn't destructive, but then I like earthquakes too, as long as they don't break anything.
I pity the tourists today...

FainaAgain Oct 17th, 2005 02:37 PM

Rains can be as destructive... think mud slides. Several years ago they were showing something on TV, and a house got washed off in the ocean behind the reporter in San Francisco.

gigib Oct 18th, 2005 11:02 AM

Yep, happens every year. Our local old stereotypical joke is that we have only two seasons, fire and mudslide.

SeaUrchin Oct 18th, 2005 11:23 AM

It is the same areas year after year, the people build in fire zones, get burned out, rebuild, get washed out because there is no ground cover, rebuild.....

"It's the same areas year after year, the build in fire zones, get burned out, rebuild, get washed out because there is no ground cover, rebuild..."
Yep just like they do it in hurricane country too.

i've lived in southern ca. altogether 25+ years, and can't remember real rain in October ever before...I'm thinking about joining the end of day sects!!!

Frankie, the weather has been strange this year. It rained here in Nor. Cal. last October and didn't stop until June. I just heard on the news that S. Cal is getting walnut sized hail today! Weird, weird, weird.
