Rafting Recommendation (Ashland)
 

We'll be in Ashland for a few days and am looking for a recommendation for a good, safe rafting company. Any suggestions? Also, would the Rogue be the closest river to raft out of Ashland?

Great activity idea for your teens! Years ago we did a whitewater trip with Orange Torpedo: http://www.orangetorpedo.com/. They were a good outfit then, so I suspect they still are today. And I believe they do have 1/2 day Rogue River trips.

One word: Noah's! My favorite rafting company (we've gone on trips with them 3 times.) The first time I ever rafted was about 20 years ago, in Ashland -- my son and husband practically had to drag me onto the raft. Noah himself was running the river then, and he was like a guru for rafting...could not have been more encouraging, patient, and kind to me. AND FUN! He hooked us on rafting. Have rafted other parts of the world, but still love Noah's!

The Klamath can actually be as close. It depends on what stretch and difficulty you choose.
Kokopelli at Siskiyou and Tolman Creek is another local outfit you might contact. Nice Folks.

Pete's Momentum Rafting! We just went with them and they are awesome and professional. We went out of Ashland and they took us up to the class IV rapids on the upper Klamath but they have easier trips too. They require a minimum of 8 years experience for all guides and OR itself doesn't have too many guidelines so you want the company to monitor themselves. They also put on a nice breakfast and lunch for our one day outing!

Definately Noahs River Adventures. They are the best. Have been with them on the Rogue and the Klamath river. They have the most experienced guides and top notch equipment. You could do the Klamath or the Rogue river and get back at the same time. Ask for Steve, he is who we always go with. he has been guiding for over 20 years. Fun stories and knowledge of all the flora and fauna.
