Radisson or Sheraton in Kauai?
 

Has anyone been to either of these two hotels in Kauai? I am trying to get our honeymoon booked for first week of September 2002 and need to find a place that is reasonable. Found a deal for seven nights, RT airfare out of LA for about $2,000 total for the two of us. <BR><BR>Thanks in advance for any tips.

Stayed at the Kauai Sheraton last summer. Pretty grounds but only suggest an ocean front or ocean view room. <BR><BR>The garden rooms are in wings that are across the street from the main building. The pool in the main ocean front wings is really nice. The garden view pool is just a small plain pool.<BR><BR><BR> It is like staying in a complete separate hotel.<BR><BR>Have a great time.<BR>

If your'e just looking for decent reasonable accomodations, go raddison. But if sheraton isn't that much more, go there. Great beach fronting the sheraton.

We stayed at the Radisson and found it to be a good value and a nice but not posh resort. The Sheraton would be a step up, but the Radisson enjoys a more central location for both north and south shore sites. You won't go wrong either way.

We had lunch at the Radisson because we were curious and wanted to scope it out for future travel...We didn't feel this hotel was a resort and we would not choose to spend a long vacation here. However, the lobby was very nice, the pool was huge, the food at the snack bar was decent and the beach looked great...Posh? NO!...Clean, affordable, have all the necessities for a fun couple days? Yes! If you're going to be active during the days on Kauai, this might be a great spot for you...I'd give it three stars...like a really nice Holiday Inn...

Stayed at the Sheraton a few years ago. It is a nice hotel but you do need to get the ocean front rooms or you will be stuck across the street in the garden rooms and probably will be disappointed. The hotel is nice but not as posh as the Hyatt down the road. Still it has a much better beach than the Hyatt and the beach is swimmable and nice sandy bottom. Saw plenty of whales when we were there and enjoyed the nearness of the ocean front rooms to the ocean. Ocean rooms at the Hyatt are nowhere near as close to the water as at the Sheraton. Can't speak to the Radisson as never stayed there.
